- NOTE: This program is written for the
- Commodore 128. Because of this, you
- cannot run it directly from LOADSTAR.
- To run this program, simply turn your
- 128 off, then back on. This should
- put you in 128 mode. After this, all
- you need to do is type
- DLOAD"PIE GRAPHS.128". When the
- READY prompt appears, simply type
- "RUN" and press RETURN>

-
- Confronted with a large array of
-
- numbers, whether they make up our
-
- monthly budget or our supermarket
-
- receipt, most of us cannot easily
-
- deal with the information these
-
- numbers represent.
-
- This is not just because we are
-
- about to fall behind on our rent or
-
- were overcharged for our black-eyed
-
- peas, either. We are inevitably
-
- visually oriented-- a picture is
-
- worth a thousand words.
-
- And constructing pie charts is one
-
- of the best ways to convey large
-
- amounts of information at a glance.
-
- MULTICOLOR PIE CHARTS lets you do
-
- just that, quickly and simply, with
-
- your C-128.
-
- The program begins by prompting you
-
- for the title of your chart, then for
-
- the number of divisions needed in the
-
- chart. For example, if you were
-
- constructing a home finance chart, you
-
- might name it EXPENSES and have three
-
- divisions-- rent, food, and car.
-
- You would then be prompted in turn
-
- to enter the amount and title for
-
- each division.
-
- From this information, the program
-
- constructs the graph. Below the
-
- graph itself are the titles of each
-
- division, color coded to match that
-
- slice. The numerical percentage of
-
- each division is also displayed.
